The past week and a half Hank has not been sleeping, he wakes up and starts screaming because his mouth is in pain from new teeth coming in. I think it is his molars. I was used to him only waking up once, so when he started waking up 4-5 times a night I got confused as to what to do. I will usually poke KC and say, "what do you think I should do." It takes about three pokes for him to even feel it since Hank's screaming hadn't woken him up at all. KC's responses vary, but this week my two favorites (that bugged me at the time, but are now funny) were:
Molly: What should I do?
KC: Hmm?
Molly: Hank he keeps screaming and I have already gone in there twice.
KC: Turn on the clock!
Molly: What? You make no sense.
KC: Put him on therapy and then turn on the clock.
Molly: You are not at work psycho, I am talking about Hank
KC: I know, put him on stim, start therapy and set the clock. Don't forget to set the clock.
Or I will ask I don't know what to do this time, and he will just say, do whatever your heart desires. When I told another dad this story at church he thought he should start trying this as a ploy. Either KC is a genius or he really is dreaming about being at work in his sleep.
This screaming carries into the daytime as well. He has learned that I hate when he screams at the top of his lungs and will do it in Relief Society, Costco, and anywhere else it seems awkward to have a one year old throw a tantrum like he was an older toddler. I am ready for the screaming phase to be done, but I just haven't had any luck teaching him screaming isn't cool.

ark did the same thing to me the other night! except he was talking about dentures. i was not as patient as you probably were, though..
Ha ha ha! Oh man, I feel ya on the baby not sleeping thing. That's really funny about KC :) I remember you saying something about him not making sense at night. See you in...2 hours!
Oh wow, Reuben slips into a coma also whenever Owen needs help at night. He has given me some accounting terms before when I've tried to wake him up.
4-5 times a night, shoot me. Have you tried baby oragel? Is daylight savings also playing a roll in this nonsense? I know this sounds mean but if you can feel the tooth so close to the surface, maybe just put some pressure on it with your finger to break the tooth through.
Screaming in public places SUPER SUCKS. Owen likes to throw everything out of the cart and repeat it while I do a deep lunge (because i'm now 37 weeks pregnant) and try to pick up all the stuff before he throws out more. Not cool!
Hope teething gets better and that Hank, well and KC stop the nonsense.
haha response to kc's sleep talking. It's so funny if I was you I'd want to try it out just for fun at times.
The screaming = not a haha response. Hopefully the night thing will tone down soon. But sounds like he's another smart kid that knows exactly how to manipulate his mom (I've got one of those too & the terrible 2 phase seems to be bringing out the best of it lately)
ha ha ha. this posts really made me laugh because I can totally see this as it happens in my mind... "Do what your heart desires... CLASSIC
Molls, it will pass. Christian is doing the same thing right now with about 15 other things to wake up for. These molars can take some time getting in though. Also tell KC he needs to come up with some better responses or you are going to push him out of bed.
