Down the Home Stretch

Yesterday Molly and I had a nice day off from work and school to celebrate "Spring for Life". It's an event that my school puts on every year where we listen to great talks/presentations at school in the morning and then play in the park all afternoon. Molly couldn't come last year because of work but this year I had my partner there to enter some of the competitions. We didn't represent well in the balloon toss but here are some pictures of us in the 3-legged race.

The tension at the starting line...There were so many groups that there was no getting around the bunching up from the get go.

But Molly and I broke away from the pack...Although it looks as if we are still way behind we turned on the jets and took third. The prize money was a whopping $10.

For the last competition of the day we got on the water for a paddle boat race. Slavik and Carina were kind enough to lead off then we brought it home on the anchor leg....we lost this one big time to some cheaters.

Is it hot in here?

Today I came home from work and smelled something strange in my kitchen. I have a crazy good sense of smell and immediately I knew it was either a rotten vegetable or fruit. I immediately opened all the windows and there on my kitchen table I found it. My cantaloupe blew up all over the place. It literally blew a hole and exploded juice everywhere. There wasn't even any solid fruit inside. Just pumpkin textured orange stuff. After mopping and sponging the mess up I tried to call Costco. This is the second time I purchased food and not even a full two days later it is spoiled. Has this ever happened to you? I think it must have been too warm in my apartment or something. StickyIcky.
