Do you every think about how every little choice you make totally affects if something awesome will happen. It sounds like something amazing happened to me, but mostly what happened was a 10% off perk at the end of the day.
My sister Emily was here this last weekend to visit Anne, Mike and Lucy and while we were grocery shopping for them she taught me everything she knows about coupon clipping and saving more than you spend at the store. But yesterday I learned one more tip!
I needed a floor bike pump and decided to bike to my local Alameda Bicycle shop. But of course needed to carry my keys, wallet, phone, and chap stick so I grabbed my old yellowish purse, but remembering the last time I biked with it, how I shredded the bottom of the purse in my wheel well, I decided to use my handmade purse. So I headed down to park street and stopped in an alternative bike store to check their prices. As I was leaving and dissatisfied with their $55 pump the 70 year old store owner said "nice rack" which was incredibly funny since I have never heard anyone say that seriously about someones bike. Next I walked my bike down the street to Alameda Bicycle and as I was checking out a lady interrupts to ask me where I got my bag! Which I was first of all so shocked that anyone would notice, but I told her I made it out of my JetBlue blanket. When the Bike shop owner said "Hurray for recycling and reusing- you get 10% off just for that." Where I immediately said thank you to the lady for liking my purse.
I almost left that purse at home, and if I hadn't stopped in that other store with the weird old man that lady and I would not have been at the register at the same time. Timing it is everything!
