Buzzed Boo

Kc and I would talk about buzzing his hair all the time.
Finally we did it. Then he tried to talk me into it.

That hair on the floor could make a full toupee

Park City '09

Reunion time means t-shirt time. Martha and I have been designing reunion tshirts for 3 years, so this year we video chatted until we finished the design and then I started silkscreening. It was a learning process with a lot of mistakes but Kc helped me work it out.

Burning the screen

Blocking out for printing

When we got to Park City it was a little chilly so we had to convince ourselves to go wake boarding and surfing off the boat in the Jordanelle, but we did it. Ethan and Kc enjoying the Utah Beach.

Bowling for my Mom's birthday

Cohen playing tennis, we had a family tournament it got pretty competitive

Hiking up to the top of Payday

It has never been so green during the summer before

Wearing the shirts, we forgot to take a group picture the day I gave the shirts out so it was pretty hard to get everyone together. My mom, martha and I will have to do. ( I am the one in the middle.)

The GREAT Northwest

So this is the 9th hole on the south course at Sahalee. It's a little par 3 about 175 with water and bunkers on the left...beautiful

This one is the signature hole at Echo Falls GC. I birdied the previous hole before pounding a 7 iron right into the drink on the finishing 18th.
This is the amazing view from Newcastle GC in Bellevue WA. It was a little rainy the day my dad and I played this one...but I've seen it before.
This isn't me in the river but it's a shot of the Snoqualmie river where my dad and I went to do some fly fishing on Thursday before I left on Friday night. It was awesome!

Since I had a few weeks before my next quarter starts at school I went home to enjoy the golf extravaganza with my dad. It was so good to see everyone and play with my nieces and nephews. For the record. When I got there they were going 29 days strong without any rain. It was beautiful. Who wouldn't want to live in the northwest?

silkscreen and umpires

This last week kc and I have been on different schedules. I made plans to go to a silkscreen class in the mission on Saturday and he was scheduled to umpire a little league game. Then all week he had finals, which I am so proud he finished and passed while I went to work. Now he is in Seattle visiting his family while I hangout in Alameda and San Francisco. But soon we get to go relax in Park City.

Part of the reason I went to the silkscreening class is so that I can produce yearly reunion t-shirts for my family. On the way to my class I walked through the Clarion Alley in the Mission(these are painted walls outside the neighborhood goodwill). I wish my apartment building was painted like this.

Kc umpiring the Mariners vs. Astros

Kc's pads and miniature hat make him look so handsome.

Random thoughts

I was supposed to post some pictures from Kira's wedding and Santa Cruz, but I have really slacked at carrying, getting out the camera and documenting these trips. I am waiting for some pictures to be sent to me from people who were also there.

Do you know what I have really been getting tired of these days...
The amount of times I have skimmed through a magazine or seen a recap of a presidential sighting on tv and the first lady is flashing her "guns." Ok, people think you have amazing arm definition. But I could care less- put them away, stop doing the flexing poses and wear a sleeved dress for once in your first lady life. I am probably just jealous.

On a different note...I have always found good and bad things with my chosen career path, Graphic Design. But amidst the constant job search, and working freelance with no benefits I recently remembered one of the best things about having my job. I can wake-up 30 minutes before I need to be on the bus and throw on puma's, jeans, a shirt and most times a zip hoodie with my hair back. This isn't across the board with designers, but it is with my current part time job. The only type of benefits I am awarded at work I guess.

My boss just said the words, "shampoo our carpet" ahh! www.zerorezsocal.com

Upcoming

Sorry it's been a while...not much has been happening around here. Molly went down south for Kira's wedding while I held down the fort. I'm sure she'll give an update on the trip but it'll have to wait until at least Tuesday because this weekend we're heading down to Santa Cruz for the whole weekend with many many old friends from BYU. It's going to be awesome.

Thanks Moms

Thanks Mom for always being so outgoing, fun, kind, giving, hilarious and wise. You raised 5 girls, moved much more than that and still continue to be the best mom/grandma ever. Here are a few pics I scanned that represent you well.

Being funny at some side of the road bathroom while driving across country

Doing dishes at a campground

Taking us on trips to see Mt. Rushmore which you to this day call "the faces"

Being sporty and giving dad a run for his money on the tennis court

Staying in style and trying to make your kids presentable

You are the best Mom!

And thanks to this amazing mom that brought Kenneth Clayton Oliver into my life.
