Part of the reason I went to the silkscreening class is so that I can produce yearly reunion t-shirts for my family. On the way to my class I walked through the Clarion Alley in the Mission(these are painted walls outside the neighborhood goodwill). I wish my apartment building was painted like this.

silkscreen and umpires
This last week kc and I have been on different schedules. I made plans to go to a silkscreen class in the mission on Saturday and he was scheduled to umpire a little league game. Then all week he had finals, which I am so proud he finished and passed while I went to work. Now he is in Seattle visiting his family while I hangout in Alameda and San Francisco. But soon we get to go relax in Park City.

Random thoughts
I was supposed to post some pictures from Kira's wedding and Santa Cruz, but I have really slacked at carrying, getting out the camera and documenting these trips. I am waiting for some pictures to be sent to me from people who were also there.
Do you know what I have really been getting tired of these days...
The amount of times I have skimmed through a magazine or seen a recap of a presidential sighting on tv and the first lady is flashing her "guns." Ok, people think you have amazing arm definition. But I could care less- put them away, stop doing the flexing poses and wear a sleeved dress for once in your first lady life. I am probably just jealous.

On a different note...I have always found good and bad things with my chosen career path, Graphic Design. But amidst the constant job search, and working freelance with no benefits I recently remembered one of the best things about having my job. I can wake-up 30 minutes before I need to be on the bus and throw on puma's, jeans, a shirt and most times a zip hoodie with my hair back. This isn't across the board with designers, but it is with my current part time job. The only type of benefits I am awarded at work I guess.
My boss just said the words, "shampoo our carpet" ahh! www.zerorezsocal.com

Upcoming
Sorry it's been a while...not much has been happening around here. Molly went down south for Kira's wedding while I held down the fort. I'm sure she'll give an update on the trip but it'll have to wait until at least Tuesday because this weekend we're heading down to Santa Cruz for the whole weekend with many many old friends from BYU. It's going to be awesome.

Thanks Moms
Thanks Mom for always being so outgoing, fun, kind, giving, hilarious and wise. You raised 5 girls, moved much more than that and still continue to be the best mom/grandma ever. Here are a few pics I scanned that represent you well.

Down the Home Stretch
Yesterday Molly and I had a nice day off from work and school to celebrate "Spring for Life". It's an event that my school puts on every year where we listen to great talks/presentations at school in the morning and then play in the park all afternoon. Molly couldn't come last year because of work but this year I had my partner there to enter some of the competitions. We didn't represent well in the balloon toss but here are some pictures of us in the 3-legged race.
The tension at the starting line...There were so many groups that there was no getting around the bunching up from the get go.Wednesday, May 6, 2009
Is it hot in here?
Today I came home from work and smelled something strange in my kitchen. I have a crazy good sense of smell and immediately I knew it was either a rotten vegetable or fruit. I immediately opened all the windows and there on my kitchen table I found it. My cantaloupe blew up all over the place. It literally blew a hole and exploded juice everywhere. There wasn't even any solid fruit inside. Just pumpkin textured orange stuff. After mopping and sponging the mess up I tried to call Costco. This is the second time I purchased food and not even a full two days later it is spoiled. Has this ever happened to you? I think it must have been too warm in my apartment or something. StickyIcky.

Three May Day Finds

1. "Love A Good VW Bus" Unlike a lot of people I know, I do not read as often as I should. Someday I think I will get into reading more. But, the other day I found a book that I would be interested in. Of course it has more pictures and design than words, but its a book–so I am feeling good. Check it out. They ride from Oregon to Mexico in this bus, lucky them.
2. "Atta Desk" I found this table online, what is it with furniture online always being $1400 or more? I think I could make this (a dummed down version that is) if I drew it out and went to Home Depot. This could be the perfect laptop desk.
3. "Outdoors In" very cool house, this reminds me of imagery I would scan to put in my magazine designs in Graphic Design school.
