February for sure

I don't know why but I just have this hunch that February is going to be a whole heck of a lot better than January. January was not an awesome month. I knew February would be better when
1. I left the "sweet spot" parking spot I rarely get to go pay my rent and when I returned it was still open for the taking! Litrally never happens.
2. I heard back from two people today for some sort of job. Not design which still is depressing, but at least I heard back from an application on Craigslist!
3. Its the weekend
4. The Jazz won
5. Kc got dressed to go out to eat with me and we are wearing the exact same outfit. Brown pants and a smoky blue shirt. That has to be a sign.

YEAH FEBRUARY

A Great Man!!

"President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through twelve years of global expansion, has died at the age of 97.

President Hinckley was the 15th president in the 177-year history of the Church and had served as its president since 12 March 1995.

The Church president died at his apartment in downtown Salt Lake City at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night from causes incident to age. Members of his family were at his bedside. A successor is not expected to be formally chosen by the Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles until after President Hinckley’s funeral within the next few days."

What an amazing man! Ever since I was 12 years old I have proudly claimed Gordon B. Hinckley as the prophet, seer, and revelator of the Christ's church on earth. I have grown to love this man more than words can explain. He truly was an example of Christlike love and service. I'm so greatful for his testimony that helped mine grow throughout the years. He was a great and powerful leader who has left a significant impact not only on the members of the church but the world as a whole. We thank the oh God for blessing us with President Gordon B. Hinckley's life.

Magic makes it up to us!

In October while Kc was at school, Anne, Mike and I tried to go and see Magic Johnson at an appearance at my gym. I waited about an hour or more and finally this 24 hour representative came and said he was not going to be coming. We walked out along with the other disappointed kids who came on a field trip. But today he came back and made it up to us. I was so excited.

Kc in the gym waiting for Magic

Magic in all his magic glory!

So this time we came prepared with a ball that we got from BIG5 and Molly's shirt (that she folded, only exposing the number 3 as to not make Magic feel as though we were waiting for Jordan to walk through the door) to have him sign it all. He bailed on us earlier but repayed the inconvenience with our VIP wrist bands. With those on our writs we were escorted to the front of the line to meet the Great Magic Johnson.

Pixar merry-go-round

When Kc and I went to California Adventureland we saw the sweetest merry-go-round of Pixar characters. It was made in Emeryville, CA right where Anne works. It amazing!! Each character when it is stopped is in ten different motions and when it starts moving combined with the strobe light it looks like an animation.

Kc's got a new attitude

I have finally given Kc a new haircut since this long haired look from Christmas. It's short and professional to become Dr. Oliver. Kc has now started school and is about three weeks in. He is attending Life West Chiropractic College and in his 1st quarter he is taking: Cell Physiology, Systemic Hystology with a lab, Spinal and Skeletal anatomy with labs, Palpation, and Chiropractic philosophy. Midterms will be a fun time these next couple weeks...This is what he is thinking about wearing to school.

Actually these vintage numbers were donated to Kc from his Grandpa and all we did was lengthen the sleeves. Only 3 years, 6 months, 32 days, 14 hours, 11 minutes, and 15 seconds until he graduates! NO Just Kidding I have no idea. That countdown was for Josie.

Fun times in Alameda

Some funny stuff happens when you are living on the banks of Oakland. The other day Kc and I went to the gym and I have never seen Kc as fearless to walk into the "Magic Johnson" (our 24 hour fitness is the Magic Johnson gym) basketball court and stand on the sidelines and wait to get into the full court scrimmage going on. He stepped up to the line where they were all picking partners and was the only white guy. I was kind of thinking they would ignore him on the court but after 20 minutes they warmed up to the BYU t-shirt wearing white boy.
Another day I was on the elliptical machine next to Monica Packer talking about our personal stories and stuff-getting to know each other more, but the best part was this crazy lady on the machine next to Monica. About 45 minutes in I notice this lady is leaning to the left and working out on like level 2. She was seriously listening to our entire conversation and not very sly either. She had a book in front of her that she had turned over- had no music and was not into her workout at all. She wasn't even looking at the TV monitors. I knew she was into our conversation when I told Monica about how Brad used to ride my razor scooter into curbs and pull a front flip over hedges and she started giggling to herself. Very classic. Reminds me a little of sharing my books on the subway with bums sitting next to me.

Third stop Corona del Mar, CA and more...

Number 3 to help caravan all 11 members of our family around all Christmas. While we were down in Corona del Mar we did a lot of fun stuff. We went to malls to ride trains, see huge trees, and last minute shop. We drove to Las Vegas to go to the bowl game and watch the Cougars beat the Bruins. We went to Brad and Monica Packer's wedding down in San Diego, and also enjoyed a little Disneyland stop.

Congrats Bradley J
My Dad's work Zerorez Carpet Cleaning advertises with KFI in Orange County and they gave us free tickets to Disneyland California Adventure. It was our first time and we really enjoyed the Hollywood Tower it makes your stomach fly up to your chest.

A little taste of San Fran in Disneyland
Martha and Jeff almost got soaked by a huge shot of water on the water ride.
After Kc and I went on the ride we watched people get soaked- almost
better than being on the ride.
All in all Christmas break '07 was amazing. Kc and I knew that it would probably be the longest break we would ever get again so we tried to do as much as we could.
Hope you all had a great Holiday too! Happy New Year.
