After working long and hard all summer in
Renton, WA for
Orkin Pest Control we took a trip to Southern Chile. Kc served in the Concepcion South mission during 2002-2004, so he really hadn't been gone too long. We flew into Santiago and enjoyed the sights before we started our rental car trek stretching from Santiago to
Pucon. At the end of the trip we had perfectly used all of our pesos, and used up all of the gas just in time to walk into the airport. We threw the rental car keys into a little lock box and were so excited to get back to the states. Little did we know our flight would be taking off exactly 28 hours from the time we showed up. We first
freaked out and then had to get a taxi to drive us back to Santiago, stay in a hostel, and wait until the next night to leave. In the taxi ride Kc's wallet fell out unknowingly and the guy drove off with it. Checking-in to the hostel we realized he had lost it. Not a good thing to find out after just getting
punk'd at the airport. Ten minutes later the taxi car driver drove back up and returned Kc's wallet. It was a miracle- the little
Chilean honest
Abe said he didn't need a wallet that had absolutely no money in it.
