Park City

After visiting Salt Lake we were lucky to spend a couple of days in Park City with our college friends. Hank was a little stunned by all the new kids around, but he finally adjusted. We had an awesome time at the Alpine Slide, the pool, a little sand volleyball, shopping and a Provo visit.

The Great Salt Lake

KC, Hank and I drove into Salt Lake on our Anniversary (August 18th) this summer. We had a great time taking Hank around Temple Square and downtown. We also went up Immigration Canyon to eat at Ruth's. We also were lucky enough to stay with our friends, the Hatchs and go out to eat for an anniversary dinner with them in Heber. Heber is so relaxed and low key- a fun change.

Get togethers

Yesterday, August 1st marked my parents 40th wedding anniversary! Forty years is a long time and as my Grandpa Christensen would say, "Not even a drop in the bucket." They look so awesome in these pictures and everything seems so vintage or 70s fantastic. Like my Dad's hair which is where all of his kids get so much hair! My mom even has long hair. Also I love my mom's dress and the intricately decorated cake with the platforms.

This seems like a picture right before they were married.

Here we are at a stake activity at the church for Pioneer day. There was food, face painting and stick pull type games. Hank screamed his head off when the stick pull started. He thought the people battling were in pain.

Martha was in town visiting Shane so we got together for lunch at Val's in Hayward and the Abotts came too! Tim Abott and Shane both work at the Temple together. That has got to be a great place to work.

Hank has been good at saying cheese when I hold up my phone or camera

The other day I walked into the kitchen and thought Hank looked like a pre-teen for a second. I caught a glimpse of him and seriously thought I had a flash forward of what he would look like when he is 14 or something.

Hank is dressed in all cougar things. He will walk around the house saying Daddy's hat and make sure it stays on while he goes down the slide in front of our house.

Monkey on your back

So it has been a while again since I have posted, I didn't take a picture for almost a whole month and a half. Woops. So since the last post Hank has started talking a lot, and is very attached at the moment. He really notices when one of us is leaving and loves it when both his parents are around. He seems to be a little of a daddy's boy. Here are a few pictures of Hank enjoying his playground, feeding his dinosaur pasta and wearing his monkey backpack. (We don't use the backpack walking harness like it is intended, but hank likes to put it on.) We also finally got to take Hank to a pool, there aren't that many around here we can use. We got Hank dressed and then KC walked him into the chilly water and must have dunked him under too fast or he swallowed water causing him to death grip KC neck and whine for 20 minutes before he decided to get back in the hot tub with his feet. Deathly afraid. Hopefully Hank will come around, this week we are going camping for the 4th. Should be a good time.

Fairyland

KC and I took Hank to this park in Oakland called Fairyland, which is actually the park that inspired Disneyland. They had fun rides, themed areas, animals and Hank's favorite the choo choo train. I also went down to LA to help with a double baby shower for my sisters Josie and Anne. I need to get some pictures from them, but they hardly let us take them so it might be hard to get permission to post them.

I think Hank lost his glasses right here. Haven't seen em since.
